There is no primary school for about 6 kms from Dawa, Chimanwale  in the Zomba region, so for the past couple of years four volunteers who aspire to train as teachers have been teaching the children in a makeshift shelter that has now collapsed and in the church and community hall.  MACS has agreed to fund the building of a double classroom block here.  The community have already made bricks and will organise the collecting of  sand, stones and water. They already have a borehole and so once they have a school block and teacher’s house the school can be registered with the government who will pay teachers’ salaries.
