MACS Privacy Statement
Preservation of your privacy is important to the Malawi Association for Christian Support (MACS) and we are committed to letting you know how we use your personal information and to making only responsible use of your data. We are committed to keeping your personal information in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.
- Information about you
1.1 We collect personal information from you when you become a supporter through completing (either physically or online) an opt-in form. This will include your name, title and contact details. If you support us through donations, our Treasurer will have a record of your name and address as well.
1.2 Your consent will be deemed to last for five years. At the end of the five year period you will be invited to refresh your consent.
- Our use of this information
2.1 Your personal information will only be used to send you our two Newsletters, our annual Gift List and to notify you of occasional appeals or news about MACS events.
2.2 We will not share your information with any outside parties without first contacting you.
3.1 We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.
3.2 Communications about MACS will be sent by post or by e-mail or posted on our website, or shared on our Facebook page. For ease of use and compatibility, communications will not be sent in an encrypted form. E-mail, unless encrypted, is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free
